Muscat: Oman has officially activated its annual summer midday work ban to shield outdoor laborers from hazardous afternoon temperatures.
Starting today, Monday, June 1, all construction activities and operations in exposed outdoor environments must completely halt between 12:30 PM and 3:30 PM.
The mandatory rest period is a key occupational health measure enforced every year throughout June, July, and August. Under the regulations, employers are legally required to adjust schedules and prioritize the physical safety of their workforce during the most intense heat of the day.
With the three-month ban now in effect, health and safety experts are urging companies to strictly comply with the mandated hours, while reminding workers to prioritize hydration and heat safety protocols as the peak summer season begins.
