Muscat: The North Batinah Municipality has opened online applications for the upcoming winter camping season via its portal (bng.gov.om). To ensure a smooth allocation process, bookings are being conducted in two phases: an initial priority phase for 2025 permit holders looking to reclaim their previous spots, followed by a general booking window open to all eligible Omani nationals for remaining sites.
Permits remain valid until April 30, 2027, priced at RO200 per 200 sq m, along with a RO200 refundable security deposit. To secure a spot, applicants must complete payment within 20 minutes of selection before the system automatically releases the site. The municipality has set strict rules to preserve the environment and maintain order, including prohibitions on permanent structures and commercial sub-leasing, mandatory installation of technical-grade temporary septic tanks, and a daily RO50 fine for failing to clear sites after the permit expires.
