MUSCAT: The Supreme Committee for Crescent Sighting is scheduled to convene on Sunday evening, May 17, to officially look for the Dhu al-Hijjah crescent moon for the Islamic year 1447 AH.
The meeting will take place at the General Diwan of the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs. In anticipation of the event, the committee has urged both citizens and residents throughout the Sultanate to participate in tracking the moon. Anyone who spots the crescent is requested to report their sighting to the relevant local authorities.
