MUSCAT: Oman’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) announced on Monday, May 25, that it has resumed issuing operating licenses for unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) via the ‘Serb’ platform. The permits cover commercial, governmental, and recreational drone use within designated green zones.
In an official circular, the CAA also confirmed that paragliding, paramotoring, and other aerial sports aircraft activities are permitted to resume. Additionally, aviation-related public events and sporting activities have been given the green light to operate across the Sultanate.
The authority stated that the decision is effective immediately and will stay in place until further notice. The CAA will continue to monitor and evaluate the situation, updating regulations as needed based on ongoing developments. Operators and participants are urged to strictly adhere to the guidelines outlined in the circular to uphold the highest levels of safety and security in Omani airspace.
