MUSCAT – A newly developed 2.5-kilometer path has been introduced in Liwa, Oman, designed to promote eco-friendly and active transport options such as walking, cycling, and electric-bike use.

The initiative aims to provide a safer, more accessible, and health-focused environment for both residents and visitors.

This new route is a key component of the broader Liwa Entrance Development Project, a comprehensive four-kilometer scheme. Alongside the walking and cycling tracks, the extensive development features road widening and upgrades, redesigned intersections, modern street lighting, green spaces, and public parks.

The project builds on previous municipal infrastructure enhancements in the area—which included road paving, drainage construction, landscaping, and recreational additions—as part of an ongoing effort to modernize the region.
