Muscat- The highly anticipated Muttrah Cable Car (Muttrah Teleferik) is scheduled to begin operations this December, promising to elevate the tourism experience in Oman’s capital.
Stretching across three kilometers, this state-of-the-art aerial transit system is designed to provide both residents and tourists with breathtaking views of Muscat’s historic coastline. The project is expected to become a cornerstone of Oman’s tourism sector, further cementing Muttrah’s reputation as one of the country’s most significant heritage destinations.
Route and Features The cable car system will feature fully air-conditioned cabins, ensuring comfort as passengers glide above the city. The route is designed to connect three major landmarks:
-
Port Station: Located near the Muttrah Fish Market, serving as the main entry point.
-
Mountain Top Station: Situated behind Al Riyam Park, this station will provide stunning 360-degree panoramic views of the Muscat Harbour, the Gulf of Oman, and the city’s historic quarters.
-
Hay Al Ward Station: Located at Kalbuh Park, completing the three-station network.
By offering a unique perspective of Muscat’s blend of modern development and rich history, the Muttrah Cable Car is set to be a flagship attraction upon its opening later this year.
