MUSCAT – Authorities in Oman have issued a safety warning for motorists traveling along the Adam–Thumrait Road as weather conditions threaten road visibility.

According to the Oman Meteorology Office, active winds are currently raising significant amounts of dust and sand in the area, leading to reduced horizontal visibility. Drivers are urged to exercise extreme caution and remain vigilant while navigating this route.

The advisory comes as part of a wider weather forecast for the Sultanate, which predicts varied and unstable conditions across the country:

  • Al Hajar Mountains: Convective clouds are expected to form, potentially bringing scattered, thundery showers accompanied by active downdraft winds.

  • Dhofar Governorate: Coastal areas and nearby mountains can expect continued low clouds and fog, with a possibility of light, isolated drizzle.

The Met Office has encouraged all road users to prioritize safety, stay alert during adverse weather, and keep up to date with the latest official weather bulletins as conditions develop.
