MUSCAT: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has officially launched its own WhatsApp channel, inviting citizens and residents to subscribe for instant, reliable updates.

The initiative follows numerous requests from the public on social media and the Tajaob platform for a more direct and accessible way to receive official police announcements.

Announcing the launch on X (formerly Twitter), the ROP stated: “Because you are partners in the making of success, and it matters to us that the information reaches you through various means, we are pleased to invite you to join the channel of the Royal Oman Police via the WhatsApp platform.”

Through this new communication channel, the ROP aims to deliver real-time news, official statements, traffic alerts, and public safety advisories straight to users’ phones. It will also serve as a hub for awareness campaigns and information regarding various police services, including traffic, civil status, and passports.

This move is part of the ROP’s ongoing digital transformation strategy, aimed at strengthening communication with the community and making vital safety information easily accessible to everyone in Oman. Members of the public can join the channel using the official link provided on the ROP’s social media accounts.
