Muscat: SOUTH AL SHARQIYAH — As part of ongoing efforts to safeguard public health and enforce strict food safety regulations, the South Al Sharqiyah Municipality has successfully seized and destroyed more than 16,200 kilograms of food items deemed unfit for human consumption.
The massive quantities of discarded goods were identified during a series of targeted inspection campaigns conducted across local meat, fish, and poultry shops in the governorate. Municipal authorities emphasized that these rigorous field checks are designed to ensure that commercial establishments strictly comply with health, hygiene, and safety regulations.
The municipality reiterated its commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety, warning that strict legal actions will be taken against violators who compromise consumer health and public safety.
