Muscat: A national platform codenamed “Hayah” was launched today in the Sultanate of Oman to provide support, advice, and awareness on the harms of drug and psychotropic substance addiction.
The platform, which means “life”, is the first digital initiative of its kind in Oman. It offers comprehensive services including prevention, guidance, treatment, rehabilitation, and direct communication with specialists. Users can access confidential support through the toll-free number 1110 or via instant chat at www.hayah.om.
“Hayah” is a joint effort of seven ministries: Social Development, Health, Education, Higher Education, Research and Innovation, Endowments and Religious Affairs, Information, and Culture, Sports and Youth.
The platform was established in response to rising social challenges linked to drug abuse, with the aim of providing reliable information and strengthening community awareness. It also seeks to support recovering addicts by offering motivation and real-life success stories, fostering a safe and drug-free society.
