Muscat- The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) in Oman has issued Decision No. 1152/2/36/2026-10, establishing robust new regulations to protect consumers from unsolicited marketing communications, intrusive promotional calls, and potential scams.
The updated framework places direct responsibilities on telecommunications operators and service providers to enhance digital privacy, enforce stricter caller transparency, and equip users with powerful tools to manage and block unwanted messages. Impacted entities have been given a six-month grace period to align their operations with the new requirements.
