Muscat: Oman’s Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) has implemented strict new regulations under Decision No. 363/2026 to govern the second-hand automotive parts market and workshop industry. The updated framework bans the commercial trade of 21 specific categories of used parts, introduces mandatory warranties, requires detailed itemized invoicing, and mandates prior written consent from vehicle owners before any repair work begins. Non-compliant businesses face administrative fines of up to RO 1,000 (which double for repeat offenses) alongside daily penalties reaching a maximum cap of RO 2,000.
