MUSCAT – A devastating road accident has left the community of South Al Sharqiyah in deep mourning after a teacher and her three children were killed while returning from the Dhofar Governorate.

The incident occurred on Saturday, July 18, 2026, in the Nima area. According to reports from the Royal Oman Police (ROP), the family’s vehicle collided with a tractor-trailer and subsequently overturned.

Tragically, all four victims—Omani citizens from the Wilayat of Shalim and the Hallaniyat Islands—lost their lives in the crash. The victims have been identified as a teacher, her son, and her two daughters. Their bodies were transported to Jalan Bani Bu Ali via the Police Aviation Wing. Two additional individuals who were injured in the accident were airlifted to Sultan Qaboos Hospital in Salalah to receive medical treatment.

The news of the tragedy has sent shockwaves through Oman’s education sector. Douhat Al Ilm School in Jalan Bani Bu Ali, where the teacher worked, issued a heartfelt statement expressing profound sorrow. The institution remembered her as a highly dedicated and respected educator who had served the profession for over two decades.

School officials praised her for her integrity, compassion, and the lasting impact she made on the lives of generations of students, noting that her passing is a significant loss to the entire educational community.
