Tropical depression forms in Arabian Sea; No impact on Oman for 72 hours

MUSCAT – According to the report issued at 3 pm on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, the tropical depression is located at latitude 22.5°N and longitude 68.8°E, with estimated surface wind speeds ranging between 20 to 27 knots (approximately 37–50 km/h).


The system is expected to move westward toward the central Arabian Sea and may intensify within the next 48 hours. However, meteorologists confirm that there is no direct impact expected on the Sultanate of Oman over the next three days. Nonetheless, medium to high-level cloud formations are expected to continue affecting parts of the country.

Specialists at the National Centre continue to monitor the system closely and will provide further updates as necessary. The Civil Aviation Authority has urged the public to stay informed by following official weather bulletins and updates issued by the relevant authorities.
