Oman consumers advised to avoid Haribo gummies due to cannabis contamination concerns.

Muscat: The Food Safety and Quality Center (FSQC) in Oman has issued a warning to consumers regarding ‘Happy Candy Cola Fizz’ cola-flavoured gummies, due to the potential presence of a narcotic substance (cannabis).

The advisory, stemming from the Dutch food authority, is due to the potential presence of cannabis in the confectionery, a product of Haribo Happy Candy (Haribo GmbH&Co.KG).

The affected product is identified as a 1000-gram package with an expiry date of January 2026 and batch number L341-4002307906. The gummies are manufactured in Germany under the popular Haribo brand.

The advisory comes amidst a recall in the Netherlands and an ongoing investigation by Haribo, after reports of potential cannabis contamination in the confectionery led to illnesses.
