Over 12,000 arrested in 2025 for labour law violations; Security and Safety Services stresses public safety role.

Muscat : The Security and Safety Services Corporation has apprehended 12,319 labour market violators and deported 7,615 individuals between January and May 2025, as part of its intensified efforts to support labour law enforcement across Oman.

 The Security and Safety Services Corporation, which was assigned some duties by the Ministry of Labour to ensure efficiency of labour inspections, continues to provide diverse solutions and services to protect property and individuals, and to provide a safe and stable environment for establishments in the public and private sectors, with specialised and trained Omani cadres.

Retired Brigadier General Said bin Sulaiman al Asmi, CEO of the Corporation, told Oman News Agency (ONA) that the company represents a successful national model of partnership between the public and private sectors by providing specialised security and safety services that meet the needs of various establishments.

He stated that the Corporation’s inspection unit arrested 23,566 labour market violators last year and deported 18,053. This year, from January to May, the number of arrested violators reached 12,319, while 7,615 were deported.
