NIZWA: A meeting of the Fifth Al Dakhiliyah Tenders Committee for the year 2024 was held on Sunday morning to award tenders for developmental projects in the municipal sector worth RO5,245,832.

The meeting was chaired by Shaikh Hilal bin Said bin Hamdan al Hajri, Governor of Al Dakhiliyah and Chairman of the Committee, in the presence of committee members.

This comes within the framework of the efforts exerted by the governorate to develop and improve municipal services in all governorates, contributing to their advancement and benefiting the community.

The projects include the establishment of Nizwa Public Park and the design and implementation of internal roads in Izki, Samayil and Bidbid, with a total length of 16.4 kilometres. This is in addition to paving works for some industrial layouts totalling 10 kilometres. They include Al Handhali Industrial Layout in Adam, Shafi Industrial Layout in Izki, and Thumayd Industrial Layout in Bidbid.

Consultancy services for the design and supervision of the work for some industrial layouts, totalling 10 kilometres, were awarded including the streets of Wadi Ghul Road and the commercial area in Al Hamra which were also contracted.

The projects also included the supply of lighting poles on the Adam-Sinaw Road in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate (first phase) and the supply of anti-virus software for information systems management.

The design of Nizwa Public Park that include amenities such as children’s playgrounds, sports facilities, picnic and fitness areas, and places for investment projects is also on anvil. It features a lake, a fountain, and a market for producers. In addition, there is a ‘picnic forest’ that includes platforms and benches for families and houses in trees for children to create a natural atmosphere that simulates the forest, providing a calm and comfortable environment for park visitors.

The design also included an educational medical garden that includes medicinal plants that serve the educational aspects of the community and students.
