Muscat: The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has strongly condemned the strike on the Panama-flagged commercial vessel MT On Peace after it was hit by a projectile while transiting the Strait of Hormuz off the coast of Oman. Out of the 19 crew members on board—17 of whom are Indian nationals—12 were injured, including 11 Indians. The injured sailors were successfully evacuated with the assistance of Omani authorities and are currently receiving medical treatment in Khasab, Oman. Expressing deep concern over ongoing maritime attacks, India has called for an immediate halt to the targeting of commercial shipping, seafarers, and civilian infrastructure to restore regional stability and safe international navigation.
