Muscat: The National Team for Combating Illicit Trade (NTT) has taken action against 410 companies found violating trade regulations The inspections covered 581 commercial companies operating in Muscat, Dhofar, and North Al Batinah — regions selected due to their high concentration of commercial records. Muscat alone registered 20,244 records, followed by North Al Batinah with 16,094 and Dhofar with 10,290. Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) reported that the Coast Guard Police Command dealt with a fire that broke out aboard a yacht off the coast of Al Athaiba in Muscat Governorate last evening (April 27). According to the ROP, five people were on board at the time of the incident. All were successfully evacuated by the Coast Guard, with one individual transferred to the hospital by the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority after suffering from the effects of the fire. The injured person is currently receiving the necessary medical treatment.
Muscat: A moderate earthquake was recorded by the Sultan Qaboos University Earthquake Monitoring Center in the Wilayat of Shaleem and the Hallaniyat Islands, located in the Dhofar Governorate. The earthquake occurred at 2:32 PM local time on April 27, 2025, with a magnitude of 5.0 on the Richter scale. The epicentre of the tremor was located approximately 155 kilometres northeast of Salalah city, with a depth of 4 kilometres.
