Muscat: All 24 crew members aboard the oil tanker ADALYNN were safely rescued and brought to shore after a maritime collision in the Gulf of Oman on Tuesday, June 17.
According to the UAE’s Coast Guard division of the National Guard, the incident occurred 24 nautical miles off the UAE coast when ADALYNN collided with another vessel. Search and rescue teams were immediately dispatched to the scene, successfully evacuating all crew members and transporting them to the Port of Khor Fakkan without injury.
Authorities confirmed the collision was not security-related, despite recent regional tensions. British maritime security firm Ambrey also stated that the incident bore no connection to ongoing hostilities near the Strait of Hormuz, where Iran and Israel have exchanged attacks for five consecutive days. The area remains a critical global shipping lane, with nearly 20 million barrels of oil passing through it daily.
The UAE National Guard has remained on high alert with recent emergency operations.
