Muscat- Dhofar is set to transform into a misty, green paradise as the annual Khareef season officially begins tomorrow, June 21, and runs through September 21. Driven by cool monsoon winds from the Arabian Sea, the region offers a refreshing escape from the intense summer heat of the Gulf.

Travelers can look forward to spectacular landscapes, including flowing waterfalls at Wadi Darbat and misty mountain retreats. Beyond nature, visitors can immerse themselves in history at UNESCO-listed frankincense sites or enjoy the vibrant local markets filled with traditional Omani crafts. With infrastructure ready and increased flight connectivity to Salalah, Dhofar is prepared to welcome another record-breaking wave of tourists this year, following a successful season in 2025 that saw over 1.07 million visitors.
