Muscat- Due to adverse weather conditions, all public and private schools will remain closed on October 16, while classes can be held online, according to a statement from Ministry of Education said. All public and private schools in Muscat, North Al Sharqiyah, South Al Sharqiyah, Ad Dakhiliyah, South Al Batinah, North Al Batinah, Al Buraimi and Al Dhahirah governorates, will continue to remain closed on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 due to inclement weather conditions, the Ministry of Education said on Tuesday. In a statement issued, the Ministry said the classes can be conducted via online.

Two individuals have been arrested by the South Al Sharqiyah Governorate Police Command for impersonating police officers and robbing expats in the Wilayat of Jalan Bani Bu Ali. The suspects, were caught for using these fake identities to extort money and mobile phones from expats.

Muscat – The Dhofar Municipality’s health control department closed 7 barber shops and issued 11 violations in the Wilayat of Salalah.According to a statement from the municipality, the inspections were conducted as part of the health control department’s ongoing efforts to ensure the well-being of the community. Inspectors visited various barber shops in the area to assess compliance with health and safety regulations, resulting in the closure of 7 shops and issuance of violation notices. Work is currently underway to inspect food activities and implement preventive health measures.
