Labour Ministry inspects Muscat, deports 1,200+ expats.

Muscat- The inspection campaigns conducted by the Ministry of Labour in the Muscat Governorate during September resulted in the detection of 1,546 violations and the deportation of 1,285 expatriates.

As part of its ongoing efforts to organise the labour market and create a sound working environment, the Ministry of Labour, through the Directorate General of Labour Welfare and with the support of the Inspection Unit of the Security and Safety Services, carried out inspection campaigns in the Muscat Governorate throughout September.

These inspections revealed a total of 1,546 violations. Among these, 877 cases involved individuals who had left their jobs while their residency permits had expired; 495 workers were found to be employed without valid employer sponsorship; and 174 were identified as self-employed without proper documentation.

The campaigns also led to the deportation of 1,285 irregular workers.
