Authorities shut down a shopping mall and destroyed 117,000 kg of spoiled food in Oman’s Suwaiq area.

Muscat – The North Batinah Municipality has shut down a shopping mall located in the Al Bidaya area of Al Suwaiq, following serious violations of food safety regulations.

The closure came after an inspection revealed that over 117,000 kilograms of frozen food products were being stored under unsuitable conditions, resulting in widespread spoilage.

The municipality took immediate action, closing the establishment and destroying over 117,000 kilograms of spoiled frozen food. The establishment has also been subjected to a substantial fine, and legal proceedings have been initiated to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
