Muscat: The Ministry of Health has urged the public to stay vigilant as flu and respiratory infections rise across Oman.
Dr. Faryal al Lawati from the Royal Hospital said this year’s flu season appears stronger but remains under control. The ministry advised vaccination, good hygiene, mask use when sick, and avoiding contact with vulnerable groups.
Flu cases typically peak in October–December and March–May. Schools remain key transmission sites, prompting increased awareness and surveillance. High-risk groups, including the elderly, pregnant women, and healthcare workers, are urged to get vaccinated early.
