Muscat: In response to public demand and to provide a broader opportunity for beneficiaries for compliance, the Ministry of Labour has announced the extension of the status correction period for individuals and employees until December 31, 2025.
The previous deadline, originally set for July 31, 2025, has now been postponed by five months.
According to the Ministry, this final extension aims to enable the largest possible number of beneficiaries to rectify their legal status in line with labour laws and regulations.
In a circular issued online, the Ministry stated: “With reference to the previous circular issued on 8 July 2025 concerning the end of the adjustment period on 31 July 2025, and in response to the numerous requests received by the Ministry from individuals, employers, and workers to extend the grace period granted for status correction, it has been decided as follows:
“First: The adjustment period mentioned above shall be extended until 31 December 2025, in response to those requests and to allow the largest possible number of beneficiaries to complete the required legal procedures.
“Second: The Ministry stresses the importance of all concerned parties utilising this additional and final grace period to rectify their status in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations.
“Third: All relevant departments and entities shall take the necessary measures to ensure the implementation of this extension in line with the public interest.”
The Ministry stressed the importance of using this grace period wisely, urging all concerned parties to complete the necessary procedures without further delay.
