Oman experiences temperature rise after brief cool spell from northwesterly winds.

Muscat: According to data released by the Civil Aviation Authority’s Meteorological Department, temperatures across Oman have risen again after a temporary dip last weekend, brought on by active northwesterly winds.

The latest figures recorded over the past 24 hours show a noticeable increase in daytime heat across multiple regions, with Sohar registering the highest temperature at 44.2°C on Thursday, May 15.
Several other areas also experienced temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius:
• Al Suwaiq: 43.1 °C
• Sur: 43.1 °C
• Jalan Bani Bu Hassan: 42.3 °C
• Muscat: 42.2 °C
• Al Awabi: 42.1 °C
• Khasab: 41.1 °C
• Mahdha: 40.8 °C
• Al Ashkharah: 40.8 °C
• Ibri: 40.8 °C
• Ibra: 40.5 °C
The increase follows a spell of relatively cooler conditions caused by active northwesterly winds that had moderated temperatures across much of the country. However, as the wind activity has subsided, heat levels have climbed back to typical seasonal highs.
