Muscat- The long-awaited Muttrah Cable Car project is finally underway, with work officially starting and a signboard now visible at the project site.
The ambitious venture, set to become a major attraction for both locals and tourists, is expected to be completed in approximately 12 months.
As per previous media reports, the cable car system will have three key points: the departure station at the Muttrah Fish Market on the Corniche, a mid-point near Al Riyam Park, where visitors can stop to enjoy refreshments, and the final destination at Kalbouh Park. The route will span around 5 km, with ticket prices estimated between RO 4 6 per person, depending on the distance.
Of particular significance is the claim from some sources that the Muttrah Cable Car will be the longest of its kind in the Middle East, offering breathtaking views over the sea. The project is being led by Rakaez Investments, a company specializing in the design, surveying, and construction of cable car systems.
Once completed, the cable car is expected to attract a significant number of tourists and contribute to the tourism infrastructure in the Sultanate of Oman.
