MUSCAT : The agreement was signed by H.E. Eng. Saeed bin Hamoud Al Maawali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, and by Eng. Syed Azhar, on behalf of AZ Engineers.
The project, which is set to cost over RO 9 million, includes the construction of a concrete bridge measuring 630 meters in length, supported by 20 columns and two side pillars that stand 13 meters high.
The bridge will feature six decorative arches, with the tallest two reaching 45.9 meters and the remaining arches at 35.9 meters. Additionally, the design incorporates parking spaces on both sides and a streamlined walkway that varies in width from 2 to 7 meters, complete with lighting. A ground crossing will also be implemented to facilitate access to nearby tourist sites.
This project is expected to significantly enhance traffic flow from Salalah to the western areas of Dhofar Governorate, specifically Rakhyut and Dhalkut. It will also serve as an important international road leading to the border crossing with the Republic of Yemen.
