Muscat – The Oman Football Association (OFA) has officially announced that it has reached an agreement with Czech coach Jaroslav Šilhavý to terminate his contract by mutual consent.
The decision comes after discussions between the two parties, with both agreeing that it was in their best interests to part ways. Šilhavý, who had been in charge of the Omani national football team, had overseen a period of mixed results during his tenure. The OFA expressed its gratitude for his contributions and wished him well in his future endeavours.
The Oman Football Association also announced the appointment of the new national coach Rashid bin Jaber al Yafei as coach of the national team.
In a statement, coach Rashid said, “I am happy with the trust I have been given to coach the team. The mission is difficult and has major challenges. It is a national mission, which includes restoring spirit and confidence to the team. We hope to seize the opportunity and there will be serious positive work in preparation for the upcoming matches
