Oman Introduces Free 10-Day Visa for Cruise Passengers

Muscat- H.E. Lieutenant General Hassan bin Mohsen Al Sharaqi, Inspector General of Police and Customs, has issued Decision No. 132/2024 amending certain provisions of the Executive Regulations of the Foreigners’ Residence Law

The decision replaces Clause 3/c of Article 10 to include two new visa categories for cruise ship passengers and crew.

The decision stipulates that the visit visa, valid for up to 10 days, will be issued by the competent authority at the request of the cruise ship agent. This visa is designated for passengers and crew members of cruise ships wishing to visit Oman for tourism. The visa allows entry and residence in Oman for a period not exceeding 10 days, with entry required within 30 days from the visa issuance date.

Cruise ship passengers and crew can also avail a one-month visit visa upon request, which will be granted upon request from the cruise ship agent. This visa permits passengers and crew of cruise ships to stay in Oman for up to one month, provided entry is completed within 30 days of issuance.
