MUSCAT: A child swept away and was found dead in the overflowing Wadi Andam stream on Izki-Sinaw road on Tuesday morning as heavy rainfall lashed several governorates in Oman.
In a statement issued, the Royal Oman Police said it received a report of a vehicle trapped with five people in the Wadi Andam stream on the Izki-Sinaw road. “Four people were rescued and transported to Ibra Reference Hospital by police ambulance, and a child was swept away and was later found dead,” ROP said.
In another incident, four people were rescued after they were stranded in Wadi Bani Hani in Wilayat Rustaq. The rescue operation was carried out by the aviation team at Royal Oman Police.
